EWE Baskets Oldenburg as Guests at L.I.T.

Logistics service provider welcomes Managing Director Hermann Schüller and Head Coach Pedro Calles of the professional basketball team

Top athletes speak at leading logistics service provider: On Thursday, as part of our management meeting, we welcomed Hermann Schüller, Managing Director of EWE Baskets Oldenburg, and their Head Coach Pedro Calles. Since last season, the L.I.T. Group has been an exclusive partner of the professional basketball team. The content focused on demonstrating how the Baskets have implemented changes in their leadership culture and to what extent this process can be transferred to the management level in companies. Following the two keynotes by the EWE Baskets Managing Director and Head Coach, a discussion round took place with approximately 25 participants from the L.I.T. Group.

“For us, it is particularly exciting on such occasions to look beyond our own horizons and to see how other successful companies define and live leadership and leadership culture,” says Simeon Breuer, Managing Director of L.I.T. Speditions GmbH and a member of the Executive Board of L.I.T. AG. A total of approximately 25 people from the Braker location participated in the event – including members of the Executive Board, managing directors, as well as department and project managers. The event was realized as part of L.I.T.’s exclusive partnership with the German Basketball League team.

Hermann Schüller, Managing Partner of EWE Baskets, gave a presentation on the topic of "values-oriented team culture." In his lecture, he spoke about how the club's leadership culture has changed in recent years. It was discussed which values are important for the EWE Baskets team and company: "Trust," "Positive Energy," and "Respect" serve as the foundation for successful collaboration, according to Schüller. It is important in this context that each leader addresses each individual person individually and considers their values. The Managing Director emphasizes: "Our motto is: 'Teams in companies do not function well if the I comes before the WE.' We act accordingly."

Head Coach Pedro Calles reported on leadership culture in top-level sports. He particularly highlighted the balance between frequency and intensity as a success factor. He made it clear that long-term and sustainable success only occurs if the team's performance also remains high over a longer period. This can also be applied to companies that want to remain competitive in the market in the long term.

After the discussion round, a final get-together was planned, where we were able to exchange thoughts with the guests about one or two game scenes from the past season.
