Logistics service provider acquires AUTOTRASPORTI PEDOT S.R.L. and expands its Europe-wide transport network
The L.I.T. Group has acquired the traditional Italian company AUTOTRASPORTI PEDOT S.R.L., based in Lavis (Trentino-South Tyrol). Retroactive to January 1, 2024, this step allows the logistics service provider from Brake to expand its portfolio, offering not only its own rail-capable trailer fleet but also intra-Italian road transports. Through this expansion of international and intermodal competencies, L.I.T. strengthens its growth strategy and offers sustainably stable transport capacities on an important corridor. PEDOT will continue to operate as an independent brand in Italy. Stefano Pedot will remain active as Managing Director.
“With PEDOT, we are specifically intensifying our activities in Italy, leveraging local expertise and an extensive customer network. We are combining our strengths and can thus offer intermodal transports between Italy and Benelux as well as Germany from a single source,” says Klaas Lange, Business Development at L.I.T. Speditions GmbH. By acquiring the traditional brand AUTOTRASPORTI PEDOT S.R.L., headquartered in Lavis (Trentino-South Tyrol), L.I.T. is taking another step towards its own intermodal transport network in Europe. “Combined transport requires certain volumes to be economically viable. Together with PEDOT, we can now consolidate these even more effectively, so that both parties benefit enormously,” says Lange. In addition to full loads, PEDOT offers its customers the handling of partial loads and warehousing services at its Lavis location.
Previously, the logistics service provider from Brake collaborated with other partners in Italy. Through the acquisition, the Brake-based logistics company gains access to an established brand with its own fleet and EU license, and can thus offer not only classic terminal trucking but also intra-Italian road transports under its own management. In return, PEDOT benefits from the additional import volumes to Italy from the L.I.T. network. “Both parties can operate more profitably and leverage mutual synergies to offer our customers even more dedicated solutions. We have deliberately structured our operations so that we do not cannibalize each other, but effectively complement each other,” says Lange.
AUTOTRASPORTI PEDOT S.R.L. has been active in the Italian market since 1939. The family business, after founder Eugenio and his daughter Lucia, is now managed in the third generation by Stefano Pedot, who will also remain a shareholder. In addition to its own fleet, PEDOT relies on intermodal transport.
