Focus on Automotive: L.I.T. Bundles Expertise in New Company

L.I.T. Automotive Solutions GmbH offers solutions along the entire supply chain

We are consolidating our logistics expertise in the Automotive sector under the umbrella of a new company. In the future, we will concentrate our services as a Contract Logistics provider for leading automotive suppliers and OEMs within L.I.T. Automotive Solutions GmbH. The service portfolio is specifically tailored to sequencing and assembly – picking, warehousing, and shipping preparations are also part of the service range. L.I.T. Automotive Solutions GmbH currently has six national Locations, most of which are located in close proximity to production sites. Claas Durach has been appointed Managing Director. We opened the newest Location in Bremen in January, where 9,000 pallet spaces are available across 4,500 square meters for sequencing and aftermarket projects. Malte Inderhees has been appointed interim site manager.

The area of Transport Logistics services for the automotive industry will continue to be organized and managed unchanged within L.I.T. Speditions GmbH. β€œBoth business segments maintain close communication with each other; we are thereby generating even greater market access and have already successfully completed the first joint project after a short time. The bundling of transport and logistics know-how within a group of companies is perceived very positively by our customers,” says Kai Wullbrandt from the management of L.I.T. Speditions GmbH, who is responsible for the Automotive and beverage logistics sectors, among others.

Proximity to Customers as a Decisive Factor

β€œAs an established logistics service provider, we have been closely integrated into the value chains of our Automotive customers for years. Therefore, it was a logical step for us to bundle our Automotive logistics competencies in a separate company to offer our customers even more tailored solutions and to leverage synergies,” says Simeon Breuer, Managing Director of L.I.T. Speditions GmbH and our board member. The focus of the new company is particularly on sequencing and assembly as well as the aftermarket business for renowned automobile manufacturers and suppliers in Eisenach, Kassel, Zwickau, Brake, as well as in Leipzig and – since January – also in Bremen. Due to the immediate proximity to customers and clients, the team around Managing Director Claas Durach can implement just-in-sequence projects and assemblies and react to short-term customer change requests. Durach adds: β€œWe are of the opinion that the automotive sector will stabilize in the coming months, and we want to offer reliable and sustainable solutions for our customers.”

The persistent shortage of skilled workers was not an issue for Automotive Solutions GmbH when assembling a strong team. β€œIt pays off that we have been successfully relying on our own recruiting within L.I.T. for years and are not exclusively dependent on external service providers in this regard to achieve our growth targets,” says the Managing Director. Across all Locations, approximately 300 employees work for Automotive Solutions and its subsidiaries.

Further Diversification Planned

In the future, our new company will also focus on the central and southern parts of the Republic, in addition to its existing Locations in northern and eastern Germany. β€œWe plan to diversify further to offer OEMs and suppliers even more individualized one-stop solutions,” Durach announces.
