LEARNING TOGETHER

LEARNING TOGETHER

Since the beginning of 2023, the L.I.T. Group has been offering its own digital learning platform for in-depth further training.

Together for success and from now on "Learning Together"! To enable employees to access in-depth further training opportunities, the L.I.T. Group has been relying on its own digital learning platforms since the beginning of the year. This trains practical knowledge from the business areas, fosters potential, and offers the opportunity to acquire further skills and abilities.

At lernen.lit.de, forwarding systems, with a focus on the in-house forwarding software "freightLution," are currently being taught in specially designed and created digital courses. The learning platform currently offers learning paths with almost 20 proprietary courses, which can be assigned to approximately 400 employees depending on their field of activity, as well as numerous external courses. The new learning platform hosts specialist content, courses, background knowledge, and practical information for daily operations – always available on all common end devices, be it via PC, laptop, or tablet.

Sabine Voß works daily in the "back-end" as the Onboarding and Training Officer for L.I.T. Speditions GmbH, taking on the "instructor's perspective." After all, she has poured her 20 years of L.I.T. know-how and a great deal of passion into the courses: "It was incredibly enjoyable for me to tackle and set up this topic with Frank Walkenhorst and Julian Derst in the project team. From a blank sheet of paper to microphone purchases and video creation, right up to the first participant certificates. All in all, it is a great story that continues to grow – whether in the number of courses or the number of users. The platform is simply an important building block for digital learning
in the forwarding sector."

In L.I.T. Cargo GmbH, too, digital solutions are more than just a trend. Here, an online tool is used for the training and instruction of almost 1,100 drivers. The tool offers interactive exercises and tests to deepen drivers' knowledge and provides direct feedback on the results. The training courses are offered in various languages to promote motivation and understanding. No elaborately coordinated in-person events are required. Every driver can complete the training while on the road or from home.

Klaudia Parkitny, Yara Bärwinkel, Andreas Binz, and Frank Düker implemented the project together. The roll-out and effective communication were particularly important in advance for acceptance among the drivers: information flyers were created to inform all departments as best as possible about the initiative and its launch. On-site training sessions were conducted at the branches to offer direct "face-to-face" support, and all drivers were personally informed via tablets in their native language.

Frank Düker, Head of L.I.T Academy and Driver Personnel Development, reports on initial successes: "We have already completed the first training for all drivers. The next one is approaching: the annual safety instruction for forklift drivers. Younger drivers, in particular, completed the training very quickly. We were able to answer technical questions quickly by phone, hotline, or in person at the branches. Klaudia, in particular, did an excellent job here."
