L.I.T. Air & Sea opens four new locations in Europe

Four new locations for L.I.T. Air & Sea GmbH: The division of the L.I.T. Group is expanding its national and international market presence with the opening of locations in Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, Istanbul, and Nuremberg. In doing so, the company establishes proximity to its customers and pursues a geostrategic approach: The new locations enable L.I.T. to strengthen and further expand its global network.

“We are continuing to drive our growth trajectory of recent years. With the new locations, we are present where our customers need us and are creating springboards for global expansion,” says Michael Borowski, Managing Director of L.I.T. Air & Sea GmbH. For example, the location opened in Amsterdam on March 1 means immediate proximity to Europe's second most important air freight airport, and the branch in Istanbul offers location advantages for sea freight due to its proximity to the port. With the Düsseldorf location, opened on February 1, the company is represented in a metropolitan area where many of its customers are based. “In Düsseldorf, we can provide local support to our existing customers in North Rhine-Westphalia. At the same time, due to our employee structure there, we have good contacts with top South Korean companies and thus create the opportunity to open up new markets,” says Borowski.

The expansion of the global network is also a focus for further location openings. For example, the presence in Amsterdam offers good networking opportunities to Belgium, and the Nuremberg location, opened on July 1, opens the gateway to Southern Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. With its presence in Istanbul, L.I.T. Air & Sea GmbH has created the opportunity since June 1 to expand contacts with China, one of Turkey's most important trading partners.

Borowski sees another location advantage of the Turkish branch due to the current difficult situation regarding the import of products from Asia: “As part of the L.I.T. Group, we offer our customers flexible solutions. For example, goods from China can first be imported to Istanbul and then transported further to Northern Europe by truck.”  Similarly, there is already the possibility to transport Asian goods not directly to Hamburg, but first to Barcelona and from there by rail to Germany.

As an intermediary between customers and service providers and as a member of various worldwide logistics networks, L.I.T. Air & Sea has diverse contacts from which customers also benefit. The new locations lay the foundation for further expanding these. “With these and further planned expansions, our goal is to create synergy effects within the Group and to establish a worldwide L.I.T. network. Since the beginning of the year, with Andreas Janetzko as Head of International Business Building, we have had the necessary internal know-how for global expansion and thus new opportunities that L.I.T. has not had before,” says Borowski. The division's goal is to double last year's revenue of 22 million Euros to 50 million Euros in the next two years.

While the company hopes to acquire major customers with the new locations in the future, the focus is currently on small and medium-sized enterprises. There, the appreciation for personal service and local support is particularly high.
