New location serves as buffer storage for supplying production plants
Since May 1, 2023, L.I.T. Speditions GmbH has been operating a traileryard with a total capacity for more than 170 swap bodies in the Port of Hamburg. The area of approximately 20,000 square meters serves as a buffer storage for the production supply of a renowned German automotive manufacturer. The realization of the project was supervised by the employees of L.I.T. Solutions GmbH from planning to beyond the start and was implemented in close coordination with the automotive manufacturer.
“The Port of Hamburg is a very attractive location with optimal infrastructure. With our new branch, we are deliberately focusing on the Hanseatic city. Especially in the Automotive sector, we see great potential that we will utilize even better in the future,” says Simeon Breuer, Managing Director of L.I.T. Speditions GmbH and Board Member of L.I.T. AG. The traileryard on the premises has been in operation since May 1, 2023.
In total, our new location has 20,000 square meters. In addition to the 14,000 square meters of outdoor area, which offers space for more than 170 swap bodies and serves as buffer storage, we operate a 5,000 square meter warehouse.
After a year of preparation, the project’s go-live proceeded as planned. “All involved parties did an excellent job and ensured that we could start work on time. I would like to express my gratitude for this outstanding cooperation. In close coordination with our customer, we can now ensure reliable processing,” says Breuer.
