Award for years of commitment to the environment: L.I.T. AG has received the quality label from the Niedersachsen Allianz für Nachhaltigkeit. This alliance of business and politics thereby recognizes the projects undertaken by the Braker company concerning ecological, social, and economic Sustainability. The certificate is valid for five years and continues L.I.T.'s Green Logistics strategy. A year ago, the transport service provider was already awarded the Lean & Green 1st Star for reducing its greenhouse gas emissions.
"For us, 'Sustainability' is not simply a buzzword that is currently trending. It is a heartfelt concern. Therefore, we are very proud that our efforts are recognized by the Niedersachsen Allianz für Nachhaltigkeit," says Simeon Breuer, Board Member of L.I.T. AG. The cooperation between the Lower Saxony state government, business associations, trade unions, and chambers evaluates the areas of ecological, social, and economic Sustainability of companies when awarding the quality seal. Torben Kokott, Environmental and Energy Officer from the associated IHK Oldenburg, knows: "Companies that operate sustainably are more successful in the long term, have satisfied employees, and a better image." At the beginning of July, he presented L.I.T. with the certificate bearing the designation "Wir sind dabei.". For the next five years, the Braker logistics service provider is now part of the Lower Saxony Sustainability Alliance.
For years, the L.I.T. Group has pursued a Sustainability strategy. For example, L.I.T. Speditions GmbH and L.I.T. Cargo GmbH were already awarded the Lean & Green 1st Star in 2020 for reducing their ecological footprint. With the conversion of part of the vehicle fleet to ultralight vehicles, a specially programmed app for reducing empty and detour kilometers, and innovative intermodal concepts, the two subsidiaries even exceeded the campaign goal of 20 percent less CO2 emissions within five years by 1.7 percent. Solar panels on the company roofs, a certified environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 1400 UM, or a traditional orchard in the Wesermarsch district also contribute to the environmental protection of L.I.T. AG.
"With the new quality seal from the Niedersachsen Allianz für Nachhaltigkeit, our measures certainly do not stop. Further Sustainability projects must now be developed and initiated, which, in addition to a social aspect, will further contribute to CO2 savings," says Simeon Breuer. To achieve this goal, the group of companies relies on collaborative cooperation across all its divisions and has established a Sustainability working group.
