Logistics company welcomes apprentices, dual students, and annual interns
The Executive Board of L.I.T. AG welcomed 45 new junior staff members on Thursday for the first day of their training. 18 aspiring freight forwarding and logistics services specialists, eight warehouse logistics specialists, four warehouse operatives, four professional drivers, three office management specialists, one IT specialist for application development and three for system integration, two dual students in the "Business in Practice" degree program, one dual student in the Business Administration degree program, and one annual intern are starting their professional future with the logistics specialist. All new recruits will spend the first two days at the headquarters in Brake to get to know the company and its processes. They will then begin their training at one of 13 of the total 23 L.I.T. training locations in Germany.
"Despite the industry-wide decline in trainees, we are very pleased to welcome 41 apprentices, three dual students, and one annual intern this year. This has allowed us to keep the number of our junior staff constant over the years β a proof that our commitment to fostering young talent pays off," says Astrid Jonat, Training Manager at L.I.T. AG. Currently, a total of 120 young professionals are completing their apprenticeships with the logistics company.
Extensive Program at Headquarters
The new apprentices will first gather for two days at the headquarters in Brake. After being welcomed by Executive Board members Julian Lachnitt, Simeon Breuer, Ingo Schreiber, and the training team, the apprentices will begin with an introduction to the in-house processes and programs. The colleagues from the third year of training will organize the first day, during which the newcomers will get to know each other better, as well as the group of companies and the individual departments. The program includes, among other things, a tour of the L.I.T. apprentice truck, a photo shoot, and a joint lunch. On the second day, the new recruits will complete fundamental training sessions, including IT and telephone training, as well as quality management seminars.
Mentors for an Easy Start to Professional Life
Furthermore, each new professional has received a personal mentor from the second year of training even before starting their apprenticeship, who will support them during onboarding for the next two months. "It greatly facilitates the start when our apprentices have a contact person who was recently in the same situation," says Jonat. After the introduction, they will begin their training at 13 different locations of the logistics service provider.
Interested individuals still have the opportunity to apply for an apprenticeship at L.I.T. Among others, apprenticeship positions for warehouse logistics specialists, freight forwarding and logistics services specialists, and office management specialists are still available at the locations Brake, Bremen, Germersheim, and Polch.
