Logistics service provider leverages synergies in Automotive and ADR sectors and further diversifies its services
The L.I.T. Group has acquired the Gübau Group, based in Wolfsburg and Velbert, retroactively to January 1, 2023. In addition to the two companies Gübau Logistics and Gübau Service GmbH, the subsidiary Vetra Spedition GmbH is now also part of our corporate group. With this acquisition, we are pursuing our growth strategy, strengthening our market presence in the automotive and hazardous goods sectors, and further diversifying our expertise. Martin Möhrmann will remain Managing Director of the Gübau Group, and all 150 employees will continue to be employed.
“The Gübau Group is an absolute expert in the automotive and chemical industries. Through the acquisition, we see several synergy effects in the Automotive sector and a strengthening of hazardous goods expertise in the Rhine/Ruhr metropolitan region,” says Simeon Breuer, Managing Director of L.I.T. Speditions GmbH and Executive Board member of L.I.T. AG. The brand of the logistics expert will continue to exist after the acquisition. Gübau will remain an independent unit within L.I.T. with a fleet of 40 tractor units, 35 trailers, and 150 employees.
We have already successfully completed projects together in the past. “Through our membership in the ELVIS forwarding association, we know each other well and have collaborated on automotive transports. We look forward to intensifying this cooperation now and combining our strengths,” says Breuer.
The Gübau Group was founded 75 years ago and has its headquarters in Wolfsburg. In addition, the traditional company has two other Locations – one in Baden-Baden and one in Velbert. Its portfolio includes services in the areas of procurement and warehouse logistics, as well as distribution and IT services. Gübau Logistics has been working for a renowned automotive manufacturer since the 1950s.
