Record: 38 Apprentices Start at L.I.T.

We provide training in six professions at a total of 17 Locations

A lot of hustle and bustle and many faces: On August 1st, we welcomed 38 new apprentices and two year-long interns. This is more than ever before. They spent the first two days at our headquarters in Brake to get to know our company and its processes better. Afterwards, they will move on to one of the 13 out of a total of 17 Locations, where they will begin their training.

Trade fair instead of video call

Especially in view of the increasing shortage of skilled workers, we are very pleased about our new colleagues. These figures show us that our commitment to introducing young talents to the profession is paying off. In total, we are currently training 104 apprentices. For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, the team around our training manager Astrid Jonat was able to directly address potential candidates at training fairs. “We are very happy that we were able to offer internships again, visit training fairs, and present our company in schools. Video calls are simply no comparison to direct interaction with students. We get a much more personal impression and can better convince them of L.I.T. as a modern training company,” says Jonat.

First acquaintance in Brake

To kick off their professional lives, the new apprentices first came to our headquarters in Brake for two introductory days. Their colleagues from the third year of apprenticeship organized the first day, during which our board members Julian Lachnitt, Simeon Breuer, and Ingo Schreiber, as well as the training team, welcomed the young talents. The apprentices also got to know each other better, as well as the group of companies and the individual departments. In addition to photo shoots, a tour of the warehouse, and the apprentice truck, the young talents had lunch together.

On the second day, IT training, telephone training, as well as seminars on quality management and basic training principles were on the agenda for the career starters. On the third day, they were welcomed by their mentors, who will closely support them for the next two months, and were introduced to their new workplace.

Six professional groups represented

Of the 38 apprentices, four are training to be truck drivers, one to be a warehouse specialist, ten are being trained as specialists for warehouse logistics, three as office management clerks, 19 as clerks for forwarding and logistics services, and one is starting his career as an IT specialist for application development.
