Groundbreaking ceremony for the filling station at the Kassel depot
Stefan Rettberg,
Chairman of the Board of Directors
of Swiss Kiss Petrol AG
Scharf Transport GmbH & Co. KG is a new shareholder in the VTM fair GmbH filling station network. In this network, transport and logistics companies join forces to purchase fuel at favorable conditions. A specially programmed software enables cost-effective fuel purchasing. It ensures that the lowest price is achieved at the time of acquisition. Scharf Transport is now building its own filling station at its Kassel depot, where network members will be able to request Adblue and diesel at pre-determined conditions in the future. In addition, there will be showers, snack and coffee machines for drivers. Scharf Transport has already acquired its own trailer for fuel delivery. Further shareholders of the filling station network are the L.I.T. Group, headquartered in Brake, and Swiss Kiss Petrol AG.
»Freight forwarders increasingly wish to organize their fuel purchasing themselves, instead of being dependent on price fluctuations and the intransparent market. With VTM fair, we offer them exactly this opportunity,« says Stefan Rettberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Kiss Petrol AG. As the first transport and logistics company, the L.I.T. Group joined the network at the beginning of the year. Now Scharf Transport is following suit to purchase fuel at a favorable fixed price at all VTM fair filling stations. The company is also contributing its own filling station to the network, which is currently being built at the Kassel location. 250,000 liters of diesel and 30,000 liters of Adblue will be available there daily in the future. Drivers can refuel at five pumps. A video system ensures security on the premises and simultaneously protects against theft. The filling station is scheduled to open at the beginning of next year. VTM fair will then take over operations, including purchasing, accounting, invoicing, risk management, and controlling. However, the filling station will not only be accessible to members 24/7 but also to companies outside the network.
Scharf Transport has already acquired its own trailer for fuel delivery. It will visit the Kassel premises twice a day. The goal within the filling station network is to purchase additional trailers to carry out transport entirely in-house in the future. »We also benefit from the fact that our shareholders, such as the L.I.T. Group and Scharf Transport, have a large fleet,« says Rettberg.
Currently, further filling stations are under construction and are to be connected to the network in the future. For example, the L.I.T. Group is building a filling station at its company location in Bremen. New pumps are also planned in Bamberg and Coburg. Rettberg: »In addition, we are modernizing existing filling stations so that they can withstand increased operation.« VTM fair has also responded to the network's growth in terms of personnel. Three new employees are supporting the team to further drive the expansion.
