Nicole Hayen accepted a major challenge. After a long time at L.I.T. in Brake, she worked for nine months in the Hanseatic city.

What made you apply internally for this 'Traileryard' project?
Nicole Hayen: Honestly, the great project immediately appealed to me. I spent an entire weekend thinking about whether to do it or not. A major motivation was definitely the opportunity to help shape and drive a project from scratch. This opportunity offered me the prospect of experiencing exactly what my journey at L.I.T. once began with, after 28 years of service.

How was your time in Hamburg and what were your tasks?
Hayen: I was primarily responsible for organizing the logistical inbound and outbound goods for the Automotive manufacturer via rail to the plants in Stuttgart and Sebes (Romania), based on orders. Additionally, I had to ensure that there was always enough empty packaging for the production of drive axles at the plant in Hamburg. Contact with the drivers was very important in this regard.

Were there any particular challenges for you during the project?
Hayen: The challenge was getting to know a completely new program with all its pitfalls and the customer's requirements. Or perhaps cycling twelve kilometers to work every day on my 'Jobrad' in all weathers. (laughs)

Did you experience anything exciting outside of work in Hamburg?
Hayen: The time in Hamburg was fascinating overall, especially since life in a big city, when you come from a village, is often underestimated. What I particularly enjoyed was the close collaboration with a great team that always stuck together throughout the entire project.

Do you have any advice for colleagues who also want to try something new?
Hayen: If you have the chance to get a taste of other areas or step out of your comfort zone, just do it. The experiences you gain are invaluable and always help you progress, both professionally and personally.
